Mr. Bosco's Principal Message

Hello Argonaut Families!

I hope you are having an amazing summer! August is here and we are gearing up for the 2024-2025 school year. If you are a returning family, welcome back!  If you are a new family,  welcome to our school and we look forward to meeting you!

For those of you that I do not know yet, my name is Joe Bosco and I am the principal of Argonaut Elementary School. This is my fourth year as the Argonaut principal.   I am excited to welcome you all to another year of learning and growth.  It is my goal to ensure we are a safe and welcoming place for every one of our students and families.  Please know that I am here to help. Please reach out to me at jbosco@saratogausd.org with any questions or concerns you may have.  I look forward to working with you all to ensure our students have the best experience possible everyday.

Below you will find some important information to help prepare you for the start of our new school year and hopefully answer some of the questions you may have.  Please read carefully and let me know if you have any questions:

  • Welcome New Staff! I’m pleased to welcome four amazing teachers to our Argo family.  Katy Brenny will be joining us in 5th grade. Eric Foster and Cristin Reichmuth will be joining us in 4th grade.  And, we are happy to welcome our new resource teacher, Kelsey Aguilar.  Please join me in welcoming these talented and caring teachers to our incredible staff!

  • Class assignments will be posted on August 13th at 4:00pm.  Class assignments will ONLY be available virtually on ParentSquare.

  • Kinder Welcome will be held on the kindergarten playground on August 14th at 10am. This is a great opportunity for our kinder families to come and meet teacher and other families. I look forward to meeting you. LiveScan fingerprinting will be available to parents who wish to get cleared to volunteer.

  • New and returning family Meet & Greet on Wednesday, August 14th from 11am-noon. We will be hosting a yogurt parfait social at the red tables located outside the  MPR. Come see your friends and enjoy a yogurt parfait. I look forward to seeing you all there!

  • First Day of School is Thursday, August 15, 2024. We are excited to start the new school year! School will start at 8:30 for all students. 1st through 5th grade students will have a full day of school.  Kindergarten will have a minimum day and will be dismiss at 12:10.

  • Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten Schedule: TK and kindergarten will have minimum days (12:10 dismissal) for the first few weeks of school.  This will help our newest students transition into a full day of learning.  The first full day of TK and kindergarten will begin after Labor Day with a 2:10 dismissal.

  • Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures:

    • Student safety is our primary concern. Please only use approved pick-up and drop-off zones when transporting your student to and from school. Students dropped off on side streets or on Charters Avenue pose a risk to themselves and others. Please drive slowly on and near the school campus and follow the guidelines on the school traffic here. Your continued cooperation ensures a safe environment for all.

    • Time: Drop off begins at 8:15. Please do not drop off any earlier as we will not have supervision.

    • On Foot: At this time, families are welcome to accompany their students to the blacktop and stay with their children until the teacher arrives to open classrooms and invite the students inside.

    • By Car: Parents wishing to drop-off or pick-up their child from school without leaving their vehicle must do so through the traffic queues that lead into the school parking lots. Drop-offs are only allowed in the drop-off zones. Parents intending to exit their vehicle should park their vehicle in a designated visitor parking space in the school parking lot (unmarked spaces) or on city streets. Do not park in staff parking spots (identified with space numbers)

    • Vehicles in the drop-off/pick-up zones should pull as far forward as possible before having their child exit or enter the vehicle. Parents should never leave the vehicle when in the school drop-off/pick-up line.

  • Pickup Procedures:

    • Students waiting for parents are to remain in the supervised pick up areas:
